Read about wikis and Edit a Wiki

Interesting use of Wikis across the Library World. Using them for such areas as Subject Guides and "How to" instructions allows easy access by anybody around the world- except for such things as Electronic Resources.

I enjoyed editing our Library Wiki - I tried to jazz it up with some overseas photos! I think it would be very useful to have one for Chisholm Library staff to enable us to share thoughts and ideas.

Google Book Search

I quite enjoyed playing with this, although I have used it before. It is very useful for previewing books especially if they are expensive and money is a consideration!

Google Docs

This would be useful as an extra place to save documents as well as a USB or instead of a USB seeing as you can access it from any computer. Would be good for group work. It is certainly useful if you don't have Microsoft Office.

Google Maps

This is very useful as it allows you to print out directions rather than having to write them out or read the map while you drive! Mind you, you still have to read the directions while you are driving.

Social networking

I don't like MySpace, the site is too busy and seems to be more of a dating site for singles! Facebook is more restrained and I could see it working in some form for us at Chisholm. Perhaps we could have meetings via Facebook at some stage????

Delicious etc

Can see the potential for Delicious especially in a multi-campus environment.

Library Thing

Have just added some books to my "catalogue", I am very fond of Kerry Greenwood, we should have all her books in our library collection!

Look at moi!

I did have some "fun" with changing the sign which was a bit time consuming however I got there in the end - very "Kath and Kim" don't you think????
